Forget Fergie time, it’s Farke time that is dominating the talk in the EFL at the moment, as another late Leeds show saw them storm to the top of the Championship at promotion rivals Sheffield Utd on Monday.

Middlesbrough vs 
Derby
It has all gone horribly wrong for Boro. After losing top scorer Emmanuel Latte Lath in the January, despite bringing new players in to replace him, it hasn’t worked. This has led to fan unrest and lots of calls for Michael Carrick to be sacked. Chairman Steve Gibson has kept faith in his man for now, but more poor results and it feels like Carrick’s time is done. Despite dropping down to 1tth place, they are still only four points of the playoffs, can they turn it around?
It has also been a miserable time for Derby County. The Rams are second bottom and looking at an instant return to League one unless results dramatically improve. New manager John Eustace has a massive job on his hands to keep the club up.
Two clubs bang out of form, but I am backing Carrick’s men to edge a nervy encounter at home.

Burton Albion vs 
Mansfield
The turnaround at Burton since Gary Bowyer came in as manager has been stark, and this is a massive game against a Mansfield team who are on a horrendous run. If Burton win, they will go just three points behind the Stags and surely climb out of the drop zone. Burton looked dead and buried just a few months ago.
Mansfield need to stop this negative momentum. After starting the season so well, they have slipped and slipped down the table and they don’t want to end up in a dog fight. Lose here, and the worries will just continue to grow.
I fancy Burton to get a crucial win and carry on their good form.

Doncaster vs 
Newport
Doncaster are in the thick of the automatic promotion race and they must pick up maximum points in games like this. Grant McCann has been down this road before and his experience will be vital if Donny are to get the promotion they want.
Newport have moved away from the relegation zone and manager Nelson Jardim can look back on a job well done if they finish the season comfortably in mid table. He will be using these games to assess who he wants to keep for next year.
Donny have to win this, and I think they will.
