We are back with a packed schedule of EFL action for the last weekend in March. It is our latest EFL acca.
Saturday, 29th March
Burnley vs
Bristol City
You feel like the promotion race is going to be nip and tuck between Burnley, Sheffield Utd and Leeds all the way until the final day. Any dropped points by any of the three teams is big at this stage. The Clarets flexed their muscles before the break, winning 2-0 at Swansea and they have also started scoring far more goals since signing Marcus Edwards in January.
However, this will not be an easy game for Burnley as they are facing a Bristol City side that are right in the mix for a playoff spot. They are unbeaten in 7, and recently travelled to second placed Sheffield United and earned a point when it could easily have been all three. Teams at the top get nervous now, so you will get some surprise results.
Having said that, I can’t see a surprise result here and think Burnley will win in a close game.
Burnley to win @ 3/4
Wycombe Wanderers vs
Lincoln City
It is getting very tense at the top of league 1. Automatic promotion is still in Wycombe’s hands, but only just. They lost the huge top of the table clash to Wrexham two weeks ago, then followed that up with a vital 3-2 win at Rotherham. They are three points behind the Welsh club but do have a game in hand and a better goal difference. Games like this are simply must win now.
It is all about seeing out the season well and looking to place building blocks in place for next year now for Lincoln. They battered Bristol Rovers 5-0 recently, showing what they are capable of on their day. Jovon Makama, in particular, has shown a lot of potential in recent weeks and he scored a hattrick in that drubbing of Rovers.
It will be nervy, but I think Wycombe get the job done.
Wycombe to win @ 20/23
Crewe vs
Port Vale
This is the biggest game of the day in league 2, and one of the biggest in the entire EFL this weekend. Not only are they local rivals who don’t really like each other, but both have a lot to play for. Crewe have dropped out of the playoff positions but only sit 6 points off Vale, who are fourth. There is no doubt Crewe have slipped off the pace recently, but what a chance this is to get right back into the mix.
Vale had a great chance to move into the automatic promotion places on Tuesday night, but fluffed their lines, losing 1-0 at home to Barrow. It won’t cause fans to panic, but losing at home to a team that has nothing to play for was not in the script. Still, they are level on points with third placed Wimbledon and a win at their local rivals would mean the Barrow game is quickly forgotten about.
Big game, and I can see both teams cancelling each other out in a draw.

Two home wins and a draw this week. Some of these games look really juicy.
