Liverpool were officially crowned as champions last week, but in truth, we have known they have won the league for a while. Relegation has also been decided to the main focus is now on the European places.

Here is our week 35 acca.

Aston Villa Aston Villa vs Fulham

Details: Saturday, May 3rd, 12.30 pm, Villa Park

This is a huge game between two clubs who have genuine European aspirations. Villa are chasing the top 5 spots and Champions League qualification while Fulham can secure a Europa League spot with a strong finish. It has not been the best few weeks for Villa. They exited the Champions League after a valiant effort against PSG but were terrible in their F.A Cup semi final defeat to Palace. They will want to bounce back quickly here to get back on track.

Fulham come into this one on the back of a big win at Southampton. They laboured through most of that game, struggling against a side already guaranteed to finish bottom. But despite trailing they got the job done with a late winner. This will be a far tougher test and they will have to be better to get something.

I think this will be a close game but I am going for Villa to edge it.

Brighton and Hove Albion Brighton vs Newcastle United Newcastle

Details: Sunday, May 4th, 2.00 pm, AMEX Stadium

Another game with two European hopefuls. Brighton got their first win since the 8th March last week in a thrilling 3-2 win over West Ham. It was a much needed victory for the Seagulls, who despite a very promising first half of the season have slipped away. They can still make this a very successful campaign and will hope that much needed win last week means they can finish on a strong note.

Newcastle know Champions League qualification is in their own hands. They comfortably saw off Ipswich last week and have been one of the form teams over the last few months. Following their Carabao Cup win, many wondered if they would build from that or fall away slightly. It has certainly been the former and it would be a brave person to bet against them finishing in the top 5 now.

I can see goals in this one and think Newcastle will come out on top.

Details: Sunday, May 4th, 4.30 pm, Stamford Bridge

Chelsea remain an enigma. They were all but out of the top 5 race two weeks ago at Fulham, trailing 1-0 with 10 minutes to go. But two late goals salvaged a win and they followed that up with a 1-0 home win against Everton last week. They remain in the hunt, but there is still something that doesn’t convince. They may need to win all of their remaining games to secure Champions League qualification for next season, and it has been a long time since they have beaten Liverpool.

The champions head to Stamford Bridge looking to put a dent in their rivals European hopes. Arne Slots has done a fantastic job this season. They have been both exciting and gritty at times, showing they can win games any multiple different ways.

This game is far more important for Chelsea, but they just don’t convince me. I think Liverpool will pick up a win.
