The first week of the NBA has been interesting. As expected, the Celtics are off to a dominant start with a current record of 3-0. Over in LA, we saw the arrival of Bronny James, which caused a bit of a stir among NBA fans.

As we move into week 2, it’ll be interesting to see which teams continue to perform and which start to lack consistency. For this week’s Parlay, we are looking at 3 games that seem to vary massively in their narratives.

Let’s take a look and see what’s in store for Week 2!

Denver Nuggets @ Brooklyn Nets

October 30, Wednesday 7:10 pm ET @ Barclays Center, NY

The Nuggets are looking interesting this season. A Championship level team that has really struggled in preseason, as well as their first 2 matches in the regular season. This leaves the door wide open for a team to sweep in and get a win. Sadly, I don’t think the Nets are the team to do it.

Although Denver have struggled, they’re still a team with a lot of strength in their starting 5 with the likes of Jokic, Murray and Aaron Gordon. The Nets have also lost 4 out of their last 5 matches against the Nuggets.

Sacramento Kings @ Utah Jazz

October 30, Wednesday 9:10 pm ET @ Delta Center, UT

The Jazz and Kings are 2 teams that have gone 0-2 at the start of the season. Although both teams are off to a bad start, there is one team that shows a lot more potential than the other.

Firstly, let’s look at the Jazz. Utah lost to the Warriors and the Grizzlies, two teams that have done well at the start of the season, but definitely not teams that the Jazz couldn’t beat. For this team to get off to such a bad start in 2024 is slightly concerning.

The Jazz’s lineup is lacking some big names with Lauri Markkanen doing most of the heavy lifting. Unfortunately, I don’t think this will be enough to beat a strong Kings lineup. With DeMar DeRozan and Sabonis making a great duo and other players such as De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk to pick up the pieces, it’s hard to see a world where the Jazz come out on top.

In the Preseason, the Jazz performed far better than the Kings by picking up a 4-2 record compared to the King’s 0-5. However, the Kings have beaten the Jazz 4 times in their last 5 matchups.

New Orleans Pelicans @ Golden State Warriors

October 31, Thursday 10:10 pm ET @ Chase Center, CA

Unfortunately, Steph Curry has picked up a nasty ankle injury. The Warriors have now released a full update and have stated that he will be out for the next 2 games. This leaves the Warriors in a tricky position and without their star player to rally the squad. Fortunately, the Warriors have showcased some amazing skill with their current lineup with HC Steve Kerr stating that this team is “the deepest lineup he has ever coached”.

This match will be a great chance for some other members of the team to really step into the limelight. Buddy Hield, who was traded to the Warriors from Philly, has shown great potential and stepped into the shoes of Klay Thompson who was Curry’s right-hand man. We can expect Buddy to be Golden State’s main man heading into their matchup against the Pelicans.

Zion Williamson, Pelicans’ PF, had to sit out the team’s first game due to illness. However, he is off to a great start in the 2 games he has played. Unfortunately, it may not be enough to beat the Warriors’ strong lineup.

BettingTools NBA Week 2 Parlay Predictions

On Wednesday we will chalk the Nuggets and Kings to win their games on the road to the Nets and the Jazz. I have confidence that both teams can get the job done with ease. The Golden State Warriors is a slightly riskier shout, especially given that they will be playing without their key man, Steph Curry.

But this has given us some great betting value on the Warriors to win They may be underdogs, but hosting the Pelicans, I think the Warriors can power on to a solid victory.
