As we head into week four of the NFL season, one game stands out. NFC North rivals the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers clash at Lambeau Field in what should be a barnstormer.

Oddsmakers currently favor the Packers slightly (-164 Moneyline), but on the surface this is an evenly matched game between two teams who have started the season well. The Vikings have been the surprise team in the division so far, winning their opening three games after most people tipped them to finish bottom of the standings in the summer.

They can make a huge statement and pull off one of the most impressive wins of the season by going to Green Bay and winning Sunday. Minnesota has trailed for less than 3.5 minutes so far this season and have already seen off the New York Giants, joint Super Bowl favorites San Francisco 49ers and the Houston Texans.

The Vikings now face their first divisional game against the Packers (2-1) who come into this one on the back off two straight wins without starting quarterback Jordan Love as he recovers from a knee injury. Love looks like he will be suiting up for this game after backup Malik Willis has done very well filling in.

Whatever QB the Packers have under center, they know they are facing a huge challenge from a Minnesota defense that has an NFL leading six sacks. Linebacker Jonathan Greenard, in particular, has been immense, with four sacks and early shouts to win the NFL defensive player of the year award.

Vikings at Packers Match Details

Sunday, September 30th, 1.pm ET @ Lambeau Field

This is such a close one to call, and it looks like bookmakers have gone with home field advantage here. Sam Darnold has been in fantastic form for the Vikings, which not a lot of people saw coming. He has built a connection with star receiver Justin Jefferson instantly, which has put the team in a position where talk of winning the NFC North is heating up despite gloomy offseason predictions. On the other side of the ball, Brian Flores’ defense has been one of the best units in the league, getting to the QB regularly with an elite pass rush.

The fact the Packers are 2-1 despite missing their starting QB for two games speaks to the game planning and talent of head coach Matt LaFleur. The roster is full of young talent and many people tipped them to not only win the NFC North, but make a really deep run to the Super Bowl.

As you can see from this SGP, I think there will be points put on the board by both teams in this one. Yes, the Vikings have a stout defense, but I feel this will be their first real big test. They were excellent against the 49ers, but San Francisco were shorthanded with injury.

On the touchdown scorers, Aaron Jones spent his first seven seasons with Green Bay and became one of the most popular players while rushing for 5,940 yards and 45 touchdowns. He broke the 100 yard rushing barrier in each of his last five games for the Packers, but couldn’t agree to a new contract and left for Minnesota in the summer. He will be looking to prove a point and has already said he will do the ‘Lambeau Leap’ if he scores a TD this weekend.

Jefferson is usually cash money for a TD, he is that good, while Jacobs is the lead back for the Packers and I think he will punch one in at some point. Jayden Reed has a good connection with Love who should be back, and I can see him seeing success through the air.
