Finding a good X or Twitter sports tipster is like finding a needle in a haystack. It seems like everyone is a tipster now, with many of them promising amazing results.

In reality, many of them are just trying their luck, and chances are that they’ll provide you with losing tips. Some of them might even ask you to pay them for tips – and you can still lose.

To help you out, we checked out hundreds of popular tipsters on social media and narrowed down the best Twitter tipsters for different sports. Check out our list of the best tipsters on X (former Twitter) for sports betting tips.

@JamesMurphyTips

With over 219k followers, James Murphy, who goes by the Twitter handle @JamesMurphyTips and Twitter name Football Tips ⚽, is one of the most famous UK tipsters. Besides posting tips, he often shares his own thoughts about everything related to football, such as recent transfers, controversies, and whatnot.

As his handle suggests, the account focuses on football tips, and James regularly posts free tips for singles and accas.  He even shares tips for futures, like their recent tweet in which he shared his thoughts about the winners of the top 3 English football leagues and the Scottish league for the 2024/25 season. Most importantly all of his tips are free to everyone.

@Tom White Football Tips

Tom White is another popular UK tipster that has been killing it lately. He specialises in football tips, and even though he’s not the most popular tipster out there with ‘just’ 50k followers, he has an active audience and his account has been constantly growing over the past year.

He shares acca tips daily, often focusing on same game accas rather than combining different games. He has been successful lately, and he also shares football betting tips on his Telegram list. He regularly promotes and shares affiliate links of online bookmakers on his Twitter profile, but most importantly, all of his tips are free.

At the end of each day, he posts a photo of his acca so his followers can see whether he has been successful or not.

@The Racing Tipster

As their Twitter handle suggests, this is a Twitter tipster that focuses on horse racing. It’s a popular tipster account that has over 25k followers and has enjoyed quite the success. They post horse racing tips daily for British races. They also promote some bookies, and racing betting apps, but the tips are completely free, and you won’t have to pay any commission.

What makes this tipster unique is that they often back underdogs. While most racing tipsters usually back the favourites, The Racing Tipster often backs bets with odds of 10/1 or higher.

@GorillaTips_

Gorilla Tips is a Twitter tipster account that has been offering their betting tips for over a decade now. It has over 12k followers, and what separates it from the rest is their focus on long-term profitability. Although they cover different sports, their main focus is football.

Contrary to the majority of tipsters who delete their posts if they have been unsuccessful, Gorilla Tips is very transparent about the losses too. You can’t expect a tipster to be 100% correct all the time, so if you come across a tipster that promises success every day – they’re probably bad at what they do. With Gorilla Tips, that’s not the case. Besides its Twitter account, Gorilla Tips also has a free Telegram group where they share tips daily. All the tips by this tipster are free.

@FootyAccumulators

Footy Accumulators is one of the largest betting tipsters in the world, boasting almost 700k followers. As the name suggests, it focuses on football, but sometimes they share tips for other sports as well – especially during the summer months when no other competition takes place.

Although the account is designed as a football betting community and often shares news, previews, and other football-related content, the majority of the followers are around because of the tips.

The account has been at it for over 13 years, and has had mixed success. However, that’s to be expected because they often share accumulator bet tips with odds of 150/1 or higher, so the chances of hitting such accas are pretty slim. Regardless, this is one of the largest football tipster Twitter accounts that’s definitely worth following.

@markstinchcombe

Mark Stinchcombe is another Twitter tipster that focuses on football tips, but shares betting tips for other sports as well. He collaborates with Betfair, a famous UK bookmaker, and he’s often a guest on the Betfair football betting podcast. He has a very professional approach to the game and he analyses the games before providing tips, which makes him stand out from other tipsters.

His analyses are very detailed, so he backs up every bet with reasoning. Note, however, that he doesn’t share the tips directly on his Twitter account, but he posts links to his blog at Betfair. Even though his tips are free, you’ll only find them in the Betfair Betting blog section.

Are Twitter Tipsters to be Trusted?

The first rule of betting, or any form of gambling, for that matter, is that there’s no ‘sure way’ to beat the house. This rule applies to sports betting as well: you can never be 100% certain that a game will end in a certain way.

Even if one team or a player is a heavy favourite, you can place an informed bet and hope for the best. And that’s exactly how good Twitter tipsters operate: they do their own research, follow all the relevant news regarding the given sport, and share their opinions on the event.

No one, not even the best tipsters on Twitter, can guarantee you a profit. But, they often share valuable information that would take you a lot of time and effort to come up with yourself, so following good tipsters is always a good idea. On top of that, many of these tipsters have their own betting communities, and betting on the same event with thousands of peers is more fun than placing bets alone.

Sports betting carries an inherent risk, and despite which tipster you decide to follow, our tip would be to always gamble responsibly and wager only as much as you can afford to lose.
