William Hill’s Plus Card is a versatile accessory if you’re a William Hill regular, linking your online and in-person activity for added convenience. The ability to cash out your in-shop William Hill bets via your mobile betting app and deposit or withdraw online funds in-store are just a few of the benefits this card provides to UK punters.

Given the card’s popularity, my BettingTools associates and I decided to conduct a review of the card. The results of our research – benefits, usability, features, and method of acquisition – are presented below.

About the William Hill Plus Card

William Hill Plus

You can see the William Hill Plus Card as a sort of all-in-one WH accessory, making your experience as a punter simple, practical, and more organised. The main advantage of the Plus Card is integrating your online WH account and balance with any of the over 1400 William Hill betting shops in the UK.

For instance, you can cash out on mobile, then visit the nearest shop and collect your earnings to avoid extended online withdrawal processing times. Furthermore, you can ‘Cash-in’ bets made in-shop on your mobile device, but you have to use the Plus Web App, which I will discuss separately.

The Plus card has minimum deposit and withdrawal limits suited for low-stake bettors, alongside supporting substantial daily/weekly maximum transactions. Other uses of the William Hill Plus Card include betting in-shop with online funds and the multifaceted Plus Web App. Among other features, the app allows you to track your bets without having a WH online account and follow live scores and statistics.

Steps to Get Your William Hill Plus Card

William Hill Plus Login

The highlight of getting started with your William Hill Plus Card is that you don’t need an online WH account. However, you will do yourself a favour if you create one and link it with your Plus card to gain full access. To get the William Hill Plus card, you need to:

  1. Visit one of the over 1400 WH shops across the UK to become a Plus member
  2. Request a Plus card at the counter
  3. Hold the card at one of the contactless self-service WH betting terminals to register
  4. Follow the instructions and type your mobile phone number
  5. You will receive a text message with a link to the WH Plus website
  6. Place a bet in-shop to use the Plus Web App (optional)
  7. Log into the Plus Web App and link it to your online WH accounts to gain complete access to all features (optional)

William Hill Plus Card App

If you’re going to use the WH Plus Card, you might as well get the Plus Web App. The app enables bet tracking and live scoreboard and stats, making it a necessary supplement. But there is a small catch: to use the app, WH requires you to place a bet at one of their Plus terminals.

The Plus Web App’s ‘Cash In’ option is one of its top features, allowing early bet settlement at the offered price, regardless of whether the bet wins or loses when the game ends. If the price changes during the transaction, the cash-in will be cancelled, and WH will offer you cash-in at the new price.

In order to access certain Plus Web App features – such as depositing or withdrawing online funds at WH shops or betting in person using your online balance – you need to connect the app to an online WH account, highlighting the need to have an active account after all.

Features of the William Hill Plus Card

William Hill’s Plus card and Plus Web App are mutually inclusive. To use all features of the Plus card, I recommend you place a bet in-shop to be eligible to get the app. This way, you can use the entire set of features these two services offer. Speaking of features, the following are the main ones the William Hill Plus Card and Plus Web App offer:

  • Ability to add bets and track the progress of your selections
  • Overview of settled and current bets with the Plus Web App
  • Withdraw (cash out) in-shop bets on mobile
  • View live scores and statistics
  • Settle open bets early on the Plus Web App using the ‘Cash-In’ option
  • Cash deposits/withdrawals of online funds at WH betting shops
  • In-person betting at WH Plus terminals with your online balance

How to Track Bets with William Hill Plus Card

Tracking your bets is very has never been easier if you have a Plus Card and the app. You can either simply tap the card while placing a bet or type in the 18 digit character slip number which you can find on the app. You have the ability to track your bet without even tagging it. Just scan the barcode that will be on the William Hill Plus terminal and then tap the card on the reader, as you would if you were paying for anything with a bank card.

What are the William Hill Plus Card Offers?

William Hill reward their Plus Cars customers with bonuses like access to their excellent price boosts both online and in their shops. These are usually at £10 max bet on a very heavily boosted bet such as Salah to have a shot on target which was 1/4 and is now Evens. Plus Card customers will also have the opportunity to cash out bets placed in a shop which you wouldn’t have if you were not a Plus Card holder. To do this, go to the app, login and then access your live bets. This is where you will find the current cash out value for any in-play bets.

Pros and Cons

We selected a few noteworthy benefits and flaws that define the William Hill Plus Card user experience.

Pros

  • The card is free to get at any of the over 1400 WH shops in the UK
  • See a live scoreboard and follow match stats on your smartphone
  • Track your in-store bets on the go
  • Convenient deposit and withdrawal limits
  • Deposit/withdraw online funds in cash at WH stores
  • Winnings from in-shop bets (made with online funds) are automatically sent to your online balance
  • Cash-in feature allows you to settle bets early at the given price

Cons

  • Although not required, an online WH account and the Plus Web App are key to unlocking every Plus card feature
  • You need to place a bet in person at a WH Plus Terminal to use the Plus Web App
  • You may have to remove certain payment methods connected to your WH online account to make in-store cash deposits/withdrawals using Plus
  • You must sign up for Plus at the nearest WH shop

Is the William Hill Plus Card the Same as Cash Direct?

Cash Direct is a payment method in the form of a voucher. You can make deposits and withdrawals, but you must visit a WH shop to claim/redeem a Cash Direct voucher.

On the other hand, the William Hill Plus Card, and the Plus Web App, merge the online and in-shop experiences at William Hill, allowing depositing, withdrawing, and betting with online funds, alongside tracking bets and other uses.

The Plus card is free, and with it, you can manage your existing cash or online balance. However, you must buy a Cash Direct voucher in-shop using a debit card or cash and confirm the transaction using the 19-digit number on the voucher itself. To use Cash Direct, William Hill requires you to have a registered WH account.

It’s worth noting that using Cash Direct to fund your account still makes you eligible for Plus cash deposits and withdrawals at William Hill shops. However, by having 3 or more debit cards, PayPal, or payment methods other than Cash Direct and (up to 2) debit cards registered with your online WH account, you’ll be ineligible for in-shop cash deposits/withdrawals via Plus.
