As one of the biggest sports tournaments BetMGM hosted, Golden Goals allows new and existing players to win up to £1 million by correctly predicting the outcomes of 6 featured football games.
Golden Goals is essentially a colossal sports jackpot. It’s a free-to-play event that you can participate in every week. While opt-in is required, depositing real cash is not; BetMGM will choose the fixtures, but it’s up to you to predict the outcomes in a classic 3-way betting format.
In this guide, our experts at BettingTools will guide you through all key features of BetMGM’s coveted Golden Goals, so let’s start from the top.

Promo Rules
Only a handful of special rules apply to BetMGM’s Golden Goals. In this section, our experts at BettingTools will give you a brief rundown of all the terms and conditions you’ll have to meet to participate for your chance of £1 million.
- Player eligibility: As per BetMGM’s standards T&Cs, only users who are at least 18 years old, residing in supported territories, and own a verified BetMGM profile may participate in Golden Goals tournaments.
- No depositing or wagering requirements are listed: Punters are not required to deposit funds to participate, nor do they need to stake any rewards earned in the Golden Goals tournaments to make them cashable.
- Opt-in is required, but only once: You will need to opt in only the first time you enrol in this tournament.
- Weekly deadlines: Two alternatively conditioned deadlines apply to all weekly Golden Goals tournaments. All relevant predictions must be set before the first match begins, or within the timeframe listed in the Golden Goals prediction timeline. In conflicting cases, the earlier deadlines will apply.
- Fixtures can be customised: After the player has made one or more predictions for the Golden Goals, the fixtures can be changed within predetermined deadlines. Changing selections after the deadline will result in automatic disqualification from the weekly tournament.
- Unforeseen circumstances: If any match is either cancelled or postponed without being replayed or completed within the next 36 hours, regardless of the cause, the weekly tournament will be cancelled and all entries void.
BetMGM Golden Goals Available Prizes

The main prize of the Golden Goals tournament is the “jackpot” of £1 million, unburdened by any wagering requirements.
However, as with all sports jackpots, the prize will be divided among all users eligible to claim it. In case no one predicted the correct scores for all six featured matches, a consolation prize pool of £5,000 will be divided among one or more players with the most correct scores.
Below is a quick overview of all available prizes and who can claim them:
- £1 Million Jackpot: The only condition to win the main prize in its entirety is that you are the only player with all 6 correct predictions.
- A share of the £1 Million Jackpot Pool: If two or more punters correctly predicted all six outcomes, they will receive even shares of the £1 million jackpot (e.g. if there are two winners, both will receive £500,000 each; £250,000 per winner if there are four, etc.)
- £5,000 Prize: If no one managed to predict all 6 fixtures correctly, the player with the highest number of correct predictions will receive £5,000.
- A share of £5,000 Prize Pool: If no one wins the jackpot and multiple punters qualify for the “highest number of accurate predictions” under 6, they will split the £5,000 prize evenly (e.g. £2,500 each if there are two; £1,000 each if there are five, etc).
Similar Bookies Promos
Not many UK bookmakers currently offer tournament-based sports jackpots as huge as BetMGM’s Golden Goals. However, there are a few sites with similar offers and promotions that you might want to check out.

Unibet has a slightly different but identically named “Golden Goal” promotion. Instead of correctly predicting six fixtures, you need to name the first goalscorer and the exact minute of the first point in featured football games to earn £10,000.

I was particularly impressed with the Ladbrokes 1-2-Free promotion that follows similar rules. In this free-play game, you only need to predict the correct scores of three featured Premier League matches to win £100. Although the reward is considerably smaller than BetMGM’s jackpot, you can win £5 in free Bet Builders for two correct predictions, or a £1 free bet if you got only one prediction right.
