The Chiefs wrapped up the AFC West with a last second field goal that bounced in off the upright, kind of summing up there season so far. They are winning, but it all looks a bit awkward.

Also last week, the Rams overcame the Bills in an absolute stormer of a game to stay in the hunt in the NFC West. Let’s look ahead to some week 15 games.

Sunday, December 15

It was a bad, bad day for the Titans last week. Hosting a bad Jaguars team who were missing their starting QB, they went down 10-6 in a game that won’t live long in the memory. The only thing Tennessee could muster on offense was two field goals and while the defense did it’s job in only allowing 10 points, Will Levis and co just could not get anything going. This is currently a franchise that has lots of quesitons surrounding it, from the head coach down. There is a lot of work that needs to be done.

Joe Burrow and his cast of weapons could have a field day in this one.

Miami-Dolphins Miami Dolphins @   Houston Texans

The Dolphins kept their season alive with a 32-26 win over the Jets last week. QB Tua Tagovailoa had a good day, throwing for 331 yards and two TDs while Tyreek Hill came back to the part with 115 yards and a TD. It was a reminder of the potential of this offense, when they click they are a nightmare for anyone, we just haven’t seen it enough this season. At 6-7, they need to keep winning to make the playoffs and while Tua is healthy, they have a chance.

The Texans were on a bye last week and we haven’t seen them since December 1st when they won an ugly game against the Jaguars. It has been a bit of an up and down season for Houston so far, C.J Stroud has struggled at times and they really missed receiver Nico Collins when he was out injured. However, he is back now and this team is capable of going on a run and being a force in the playoffs.

This could be a really close one, and I am going for the Texans to edge it.

Buffalo Bills @  Detroit Lions logo Detroit Lions

Josh Allen made history against the Rams last Sunday. He became the first ever QB to throw three touchdown passes and run for three himself, and all of it was in vain as Buffalo still incredibly lost the game, 44-42. The shouts for Allen to win the MVP award have now reached fever pitch, and you certainly wouldn’t bet against him winning it at this point. Although there was a lot of good in the game, the fact the Bills also gave up 42 points will be a worry to head coach Sean McDermott moving forward. Even when Allen turned into Superman, the Bills still lost, and that is not the recipe for success.

The Lions high powered offense got the job done against division rivals the Green Bay Packers thanks to a walk off field goal by Jake Bates. Jared Goff threw a rare interception but bounced back to throw for 283 yards and three TDs as the Lions closed it out, 34-31. There is on doubt this Lions team is made of the right stuff, but they are losing so many players on the defensive side of the ball, which is a worry heading into the playoffs. But, if any team can overcome those obstacles, it will be Dan Campbell and Detroit.

I am going for the underdog Bills to pull of an upset here on the road.

The Colts were on their Bye in week 14, taking the time to reset after winning a nail biter 25-24 in week 13 to keep their season alive. The full Anthony Richardson experience was on view on that one, as the QB threw two interceptions and two touchdowns as he continues to try and fid some consistency as a thrower. The Colts will need him to mature quickly if they are to make a late break into the postseason.

The Broncos were also on their bye last week and went into it off the back of a 41-25 win where once again rookie Bo Nix continued to put forward his case for offensive rookie of the year. He threw for 294 yards and a TD, while receiver Marvin Mims Jr. had a great day with 105 receiving yards and a TD. With Nix in this sort of form, Sean Peyton’s men look well set to be in the playoffs, and they will be a tough team to beat in the postseason.

I fancy the Broncos to get a win on the road here.

It is clear I have taken a little gamble this week, favoring the Bills to go on the road and get a win against a Lions team that have only lost one game all season. However, I just think with the way the Bills are playing and the amount of defensive injuries the Lions have, we could see an upset.
