So, we are down to the final two games. Week 16 had a lot of drama, none more so than Jayden Daniels surely sealing offensive rookie of the year by leading the Commanders past the Eagles in the final seconds (and costing me my parlay, thanks, Jayden).

It is do or die for lots of NFL teams now, let’s take a look at some games ahead of week 17.

It was all going so swimmingly at half time in L.A for the Broncos last week. Leading the Chargers, 21-13, they looked to be punching their ticket for the playoffs to cap an excellent year for head coach Sean Payton and rookie QB Bo Nix. Unfortunately, Justin Herbert didn’t read the script and he led a comeback win for L.A that means the Broncos must wait to confirm their place in the postseason. They will hope that second half surrender was just an anomaly, and that they can bounce back here.

The Bengals aren’t dead yet, but the fat lady is clearing her throat. They are possibly the most frustrating team in the league. A roster stacked full of talent, but has lost some strange games along the way meaning they have just an 8% possibility of making the playoffs. They produced another impressive display last week, beating the Browns, 24-6, with Joe Burrow throwing for 252 yards and three TDs. You have to think if the Bengals weren’t 7-8, Burrow would be firmly in the MVP race.

This is a tough one to call, but I think the Bengals will continue their fine recent form.

Green Bay Packers @  Minnesota-Vikings Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings remain in the hunt for the No1 seed after a nail biting win in Seattle. They now know if they win their final two matches, in Green Bay and then at Detroit, they will earn a first round bye in the playoffs. Against the Seahawks, Justin Jefferson went off, with 144 receiving yards and two TDs. His second touchdown was crucial, putting the Vikings up 27-24 and sealing the game after the defense intercepted Geno Smith on Seattle’s final drive. This team has found ways to win all year, the a QB who entered the year as the backup, it is quite the story.

This has all the making of an NFC North classic, and I am going for the upset and the underdog Green Bay to pull off the win.

Even in victory last week, most Raiders fans weren’t happy. In beating the Jaguars, 19-14, the Raiders left the Giants in sole possession of the N0.1 draft pick in April. It is always the way in the NFL, with any playoff hopes ended a long time ago, a lot of people have the view you may as well tank and earn a better draft pick. However, these are professional athletes we are talking about, with pride and records at stake. In the Raiders win over the Jags, rookie tight end Brock Bowers had another excellent afternoon, with 99 receiving yards. He has been the shining light in a dismal Raiders season.

I think, even on a short week, the Saints will have to much for the Raiders in Vegas.

Obviously I have made a big call this week, with the Packers going into Minnesota and getting the W. I just feel Green Bay are peaking at the right time, Jordan Love has complete control over the offense and they look like they could make a deep postseason run. It will also see two of the best coaches in the league go up against each other. Elsewhere, I think the Bengals and Burrow are one of the current best teams in the NFL but have left their run too late, while the Saints should overcome Las Vegas.
