The Cowboys got absolutely blown away by the Lions at home, the Ravens and Commanders played out a high-class game with Baltimore coming out on top while the problems mounted for the Jaguars in London.

Week six also brought us some terrible injury news with the Lion’s star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson undergoing surgery for a gruesome lower leg injury. I also delivered a winning parlay last week, so let’s see if I can follow it up.

Sunday, October 20

Tennessee Titans logo  Tennessee Titans @   Buffalo Bills

The Titans travel to Buffalo this week after losing a close at home to the Colts this past Sunday. It’s fair to say it has been an up and down season so far for QB Will Levis. Against Indianapolis, he threw for 95 yards with one touchdown and one interception. We are still none the wiser if Levis can be the Titans QB of the future but if he is to be, he needs to clean up a lot of his play. The Titans did get Tony Pollard going, who recorded 93 rushing yards and a TD. But this is a team that lacks playmakers throughout the roster and at 1-4 it is a long way back.

The Bills showed a lot of grit to come through with the win on Monday Night Football against the Jets. They were missing star running back James Cook but his replacement, Ray Davis, came through in a big way and posted 97 yards on the ground from 20 carries. That massively helped Josh Allen, who threw for 215 yards and two TDs on the night. Allen has been efficient all season, and if he carries on like that, Buffalo will always have a chance.

Buffalo haven’t been perfect recently, but I think they will be too strong at home for Tennessee.

Seattle-Seahawks Seattle Seahawks @   Atlanta Falcons

After starting the season 3-0, the Seahawks are on a three game losing skid with their latest defeat coming against the division-rival 49ers on Thursday Night Football last week. Yes, they have suffered injuries on defense, but the offensive live is terrible, they are giving up huge explosive plays on the ground every week and they just don’t look like a good football team right now. Receiver DK Metcalf was also visibly angry on the sidellines last week, and things just aren’t clicking. First-time head coach Macdonald needs to overcome this early adversity.

The Falcons enter this week with a 4-2 record and must be feeling pretty good about themselves. Kirk Cousins is playing well, throwing for 225 yards and a TD in their 38-20 win over the Panthers last week. Running back Tyler Allgeier ran for 105 yards and a TD while receiver Drake London racked up 74 yards and a score. Atlanta has weapons on both sides of the ball and they will be a tough out for any team. I think they will pile on the misery for Seattle in this one.

Cleveland Browns logo Cleveland Browns @  Cincinnati Bengals logo Cincinnati Bengals

These are grim times for the Cleveland Browns. Their defense is still playing at a high level, restricting the Eagles to 20 points in Philly last week and keeping them in the game. But the offense continues to stink the place out. DeShaun Watson just doesn’t look like a NFL quality QB at the moment and once again head coach Kevin Stefanski was asked if he would continue to be the starter next week. Stefanski said he will be, but he needs to show far more if this team is to get off the floor and make a run.

It has not exactly been fun in the Jungle so far this season, either. The Bengals got a much needed win in New York against the Giants last week, but the 17-7 success wasn’t overly convincing. Ja’Marr Chase was a non-factor, and QB Joe Burrow was the leading rusher on the team with 4 carries for 55 yards and a TD. That is not going to be a winning formula going forward. Cincinnati are 2-4 and it is a long road back, but I think they get the job done in a low scoring affair.

Bengals Moneyline @ -218

Philadelphia Eagles @  New York Giants logo New York Giants

This is a big game in the wide-open NFC East. Every time the Eagles play you can feel the tension. They are sitting on a 3-2 record but it almost feels like they are 0-5. There were loud boos during their win over the Browns last week, something which head coach Nick Sirianni clearly took exception to as he could be seen arguing with the fans. So far this team is just stumbgling along. It was positive to see receiver A.J. brown come back from injury with a big game, posting 116 yards and a TD while QB Jalen Hurts also had a good game against Cleveland, throwing for 264 yards and 2 TDS.

The Giant’s offense struggled all afternoon last week against the Bengals. After performing so well in week five in Seattle, Daniel Jones struggled throwing for 205 yards and an interception. Their only points came on a 1-yard run from Tyrone Tracy Jr and there were no positives to take from the game. This is two teams that are looking for something to really ignite their seasons. I think the Eagles, who have far better skill position players, will win this one, but it could be ugly.

Carolina Panthers logo  Carolina Panthers @  Washington Commanders logo Washington Commanders

Since the Panthers chose to put remove QB Bryce Young as the starter they have at least up some points with Andy Dalton under center, the problem is they have also allowed a lot to the opposition. In their 38-20 defeat to the Falcons last week, Dalton threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns along with two interceptions. Chuba Hubbard continues to be a plus point on the ground, posting 92 yards while receiver Diontae Johnson had his best day of the season with 78 yards and a TD. The Panthers are 1-5 and it is about building for next year already.

Although the Commanders lost in Baltimore last week, they came out of it with a lot of credit and proof they are a force this year. Jayden Daniels was once again excellent, throwing for 269 yards and two TDs and he already looks like the franchise QB this team has been searching for for years. These are exciting times for the Commanders, they can go toe-to-toe with the best teams in the NFL and look set for a run to the postseason this season. They will be too strong for Carolina in this one, who will be the underdog in every game.

There are some excellent matchups this week. The two picks I think could be close are the Eagles and Bengals to win, but I think both have better players than the teams they are facing on the day. NFL Week 7 Prop Bets

Betting Tools & Calculators
David Montgomery Anytime touchdown scorer
vs Vikings
Detroit Lions logo
Bijan Robinson Anytime touchdown scorer
vs Seahawks
Saquon Barkley Anytime touchdown scorer
vs Giants

For this week, I have also had a look at some intriguing prop bets. I have gone with three running backs to all claim a touchdown in their games. First, David Montgomery, who has been excellent all season, I think will have another big day against the Vikings and I think he will punch one in.

Bijan Robinson is one of the most talented running backs in the league and I think he will find the endzone against the Seahawks, who haven’t been able to stop the run in any of their games so far.

Finally, Saquon Barkley returns to New York, where he was the heartbeat of the Giants, but he goes there in an Eagles uniform. These two teams are not friends, so it obviously follows Barkley will have a big day. Happy betting!
