The Detroit Lions showed last weekend that they are currently the best team in the NFL, heading to Green Bay and securing a huge division win in inclement weather. They are the current top dogs in the NFC.
I also had some success of my own in week nine, with a winning parlay coming through. Let’s hope for more of the same in week ten.

San Francisco 49ers @
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs lost a tough one in overtime in Kansas City on Monday Night Football, coming from behind to tie it up at 24 each. Although they have numerous injuries, including to wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, they showed a lot of heart and fight to stick with the Super Bowl champions. Ultimately they came up short and will now need to get ready for another tough test on a short week.
The 49ers are coming off their bye week, and had a lot to mull over after losing to the Chiefs in week nine. In that defeat, Brock Purdy had one of his worst games in his young career, throwing three interceptions as the team just made too many mistakes to live with Kansas City on the day. They are currently third in the muddled NFC West and most of us are expecting them to put a run together. They could do with that starting in Florida this week.
I think San Francisco will get the win on a road against an injury hit Bucs team.

New England Patriots @
Chicago Bears
The Patriots actually showed some life on offense last week, but still came up short in a 20-17 defeat to the Titans. Rookie QB Drake Maye had an up and down day, throwing for 206 yards with a TD and two interceptions, and also ran for 95 yards. He has definitely shown flashes of potential and enough to believe he could be the franchise quarterback this team has been looking for since Tom Brady retired. At 2-7, this is already a lost season for New England, so all eyes will be on Maye until the end of the year to see if he can step up.
After a heart-breaking loss in week 8 to the Commanders, the Bears were never really in the game last week, losing 29-9 to a rejuvenated Cardinals team. Caleb Williams threw for 217 yards and receiver Rome Odunze also had a good day with 104 yards, but they couldn’t convert in the red zone and had to rely on field goals all afternoon. In a tough division, the Bears are facing an uphill battle to make the playoffs and must now make a run.
I think the Bears have far too much at home to a poor New England Patriots team.

Atlanta Falcons @
New Orleans Saints
The Falcons got the job done at home to the Cowboys last week to cement themselves at the top of the NFC South. Kirk Cousins had a great day, throwing for 222 yards and three TDs, while running backs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier were a menace in the backfield, providing a lethal one-two punch. This is a well-balanced team when they put it all together, with a veteran QB, exciting receivers and hard running backs. I expect them to go and win the NFC South and they will be a threat in the playoffs, as well.
The Saints travel to their division rivals coming off an embarrassing loss to the Panthers last week, leaving the coach on the hot seat and running back Alvin Kamara questioning some of his teammates. QB Derek Carr returned after injury and had a solid afternoon but the defense couldn’t stop a Carolina team that has been terrible all season, and at 2-7, New Orleans is currently one of the worst teams in the NFL and you feel the repercussions won’t be far away for some members of this franchise.
I expect the Falcons to win at a canter, take the over on this one.

Philadelphia Eagles @
Dallas Cowboys
The Eagles head into this game against their big division rivals full of confidence. They picked up an important win on the road in Jacksonville last week, and there were some big performances on the day. QB Jalen Hurts threw for 230 yards and two TDs, Devonta Smith 87 yards and a TD through the air while Saquon Barkley had 159 yards and a TD on the ground. Signing Barkley from the Giants is proving to be an inspired decision, and with him in this form and the Eagles dangerous air attack, Philly will be one of the teams eyeing a deep playoff run.
There is no such confidence in Dallas. A 27-21 defeat in Atlanta dropped the Cowboys record to 3-5 and raised more questions about owner Jerry Jones and the front office and their lack of moves in the offseason. Take CeeDee Lamb away and there just aren’t enough high quality skill position players on the roster. The aim for the Cowboys every year is to reach the Super Bowl but this iteration of the Cowboys look absolutely miles away. They will have to have a big turnaround in the second half of the season just to make the playoffs.
I think the Eagles win against their big rivals.

New York Jets @
Arizona Cardinals
It has been like a soap opera watching the Jets season so far, and it was more of the same last Thursday Night. A dreadful first half saw Gang Green trail at half-time 7-0 with Aaron Rodgers and the offense looking terrible and loud boos ringing around the stadium. However, the second half saw the Rodgers of old on the field, as he was slinging it all over the field. He threw for 211 yards and three TDs while Devante Adams caught his first touchdown since his trade from the Raiders. If the Jets can show that form more consistently, their season could yet be saved.
The Cardinals are on a roll. After their 29-9 dismantling of the Bears they sit at 5-4 and are right in the thick of it in the NFC West. Lots of players are stepping up for this team, and Kyler Murray is showing the type of form of a few years ago when he was one of the most exciting QBs in the league. This Arizona team play tough with a coach who is getting every last drop he can out of the roster. They are hot right now.
This is a tough one to call, oddsmakers are struggling to name an underdog for this clash. However, I am going with the hot and and the home team in Arizona.

Week 10 Parlay Picks
I was pleased to win last week, with the Rams overtime win over the Seahawks confirming the parlay had won. The NFL is a week-to-week business but I am confident in my first four picks here, with the one that is more in the balance the Cardinals defeating the Jets. I think they are in great form and being at home also counts for a lot, but if Rodgers can carry on where he left off in the second half last week they will be dangerous.
